Happy Easter 2008

Happy Easter!
.
.
Wake up mom and dad.
We're ready to go downstairs
and see if the Easter Bunny came . . .
(no, Sarah doesn't sleep in boots and a blazer.
She just wanted to look like the rock star that she is.)

.
.
Oh my gosh, look at all the goodies!
.
.
Mom, mom, the bunny ate the carrots we left out.
.
.

What's that Kate? Gum?
.
.
I need another basket.
.
.
I think there's money in these. Listen!
.
.
Look, guys, the bunny brought the Hannah watch I wanted.
.
.
Chocolate marshmallow bunnies. Yum!
.
.
Okay, time to hatch the eggs.
.
.

Lollipop eggs.
.
.
Sarah says: Okay Kate, now that we've sorted everything let's set up a store and sell it.
Kate says: What? No!
.
.

Dad, can I please have some of my candy . . . ?
.
.

I'll just eat this chocolate icing filled egg.
.
.
And a few handfuls of jelly beans . . .
and two or three chocolate eggs . . .
and half of my Dove chocolate bunny
(Kate LOVES Dove chocolate)

.
.

Sugar buzz? What's that?
Want to play? Come on let's run around an yell.
.
.
.

Check out the Hannah shirt I got.
.
.
I'm going to count all my money.
.
.

I'll count yours too Kate.
Don't worry, since it's Easter
I'll discount my fee to only 10 %.
.
.
.
It's about time you let me out of the crate.
You guys treat me like such a dog. Geez.
.
.
What's this. Is this giant nerd for me?
.
.
I smell chocolate.
.
.

All this stuff and you didn't get me anything?
.
.
~~~
That Easter Bunny! He's so smart. He brought tons of candy. Jelly beans, gum, lollipops, chocolate eggs, smarties, nerds, huge chocolate bunnies, plastic hopping bunnies and Hannah Montana pens, makeup and shirts. Go bunny!!
.
What a great day!! We watched a brand new episode of Hannah Montana, ate a bunch of chocolate goodies, talked on the phone to our family, watch Enchanted . . . no, we're not couch potatoes. Well, okay we were today, but Superdad has the flu and it's not really the kind of day to spend outside.
.
.
Good think Peter C. didn't bring any kites.
It's been snowing all day!
Since when does it snow on Easter??
.
.
.
Hugs to everyone.
Happy Easter!
Steak & Shake
In Illinois they have restaurants called Steak & Shake. It's like and old fashioned diner; they serve burgers and shakes and lots of greasy stuff. Jeff was excited to take the girls today and the girls were excited to get a gigantic chocolate milk shake.
The sugar buzz hit right away.
Season Tickets Anyone . . . ?
It's been almost two weeks since Horton Hears a Who hit the theater. Unfortunately for Sarah and Kate the theaters in our new hometown don't open until 4:00 and there just hasn't been a good day to go. Sarah's spring break started Friday and we thought we'd finally have a chance to go . . . but alas Supermom had forgotten that daddy got tickets to a local hockey game. The girls were not thrilled . . . I mean how much fun could two little girls have watching a dumb old hockey game?
Well, let's see!!
The announcer got everyone pumped up.
And our little cheerleader whipped out some of her moves.
She screamed and cheered
and everyone in our section fell in love with her.
~
The the ticket dropping balloon came out into the crowd.
Oh boy . . . yell extra loud so it'll come our way.
~
Hey, we're here . . . !!! Woo hooooooo!!
~
Drop some tickets here . . .
~
~
Oh yeah, the girls had a blast! The local team is the Peoria Rivermen - they are not in the same league as the Coyotes so the rules were a bit different. I was shocked when a fight broke out and the players proceed to beat the heck out of each other while the Ref watched - then the crowd stood up and cheered egging the players on. I was even more surprised when my little princesses jumped up on their seats and screamed "Get em!"
To add to the fun, the arena does double features. Tonight they had a country singer perform after the game. After tomorrow night's game - midget wrestling. Can we say 'season tickets?'
This is so fun Dad. I want to do this again!!
Easter Boxes
Holidays are so fun when you're three and five. Nana & Poppy and Granie & Grandpa sent boxes of Easter goodies for the girls.
Stand back Kate. I'll open it.
~
~
Oooooh, that looks like a doll.
~
~
Oooooh, more goodies.
We have the best Grandparents in the world.
Thank you.
We Miss You!
There are no words to express
the sadness we feel today.
This boy was wise beyond his years.
He was corageous and gentle.
He was smart and fun
and generous in spirit.
He was the kind of kid, who at thirteen,
would sit close to his aunt
and hold her hand.
He was loved.
And he was taken from us too soon.
.
Cody, you taught me to live in the moment.
I miss you!
To Cody - From Sarah
I miss you. I miss your smile.
And I'll still shed a tear, every once in a while.
And even though it's different now;
you're still here somehow.
My heart won't let you go
and I need you to know.
I miss you!
Love,
Sarah
Laurel Style
Katie G is the princess of fun and funky hairstyles. She has created 'Plate Style,' 'Mombo Style, 'Frog Style.' We've done all the princesses (Jasmine, Mulan, Belle, Cindy, Lea.) Today she asked for Laurel Style.
Three is such a fun age!
I DO NOT LIKE ORANGE CHEESE AND HAM!
I do not like orange cheese and ham.
I do not like it. Mom! (I am)
I do not like it here or there.
I will not eat it in my chair.
Instead I'll roll on the cold floor
and yell and scream near the front door.
No kidding! Today, Kate and I made plans for a really easy but tasty dinner for Dad. Antipasto Hero sandwiches. They were a bit gourmet for the girls so I made them hot ham and cheese. I don't normally have ham in the house, in fact I can count the number of times the girls have eaten ham on one hand. Sarah loved it. But little Katie Kat, who is still on her meat boycott, immediately freaked out. Screaming, throwing herself on the floor, saying she does not eat ham!! The look on Sarah's face was priceless but I was too stunned to grab the camera that quickly. I did manage to get this shot of Kat as she rolled around the floor in protest. Her spaz attack lasted the whole meal - of course we just ignored her - and in case your wondering, she never did eat her sandwich.
Scramble Eggs
I'm not sure when it happened, our girls never used to be picky eaters. But somewhere along the way both of them stopped eating eggs. Kate has acutally been boycotting all meat except cheeseburgers for a few months now. I've had to pull out all my Super tricks to get protein in her.
This morning we were out of all our normal breakfast fare, except cereal, and it was too cold to run out to the store or go out for breakfast so I told them I would make eggs. At first they scoffed but I talked it up and they got excited. I had to photograph the event because it's been quite a while since they've even entertained the idea of eating eggs. Today they did, and they liked them.
Look at me mom, I'm going to take a bite!!
Let me try biting my empty fork first.
Put that plate down here.
I won't give you any flack mom.
I'll eat the eggs and ask for more!
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
To Target we drove from Schultzville one day.
You see Target, from here, is sort of far away.
We walked right inside and we saw a cat.
The Dr. Seuss Cat, in the red stripe-ed hat.
The kids sat right down and listened a while
and they both left the store with gigantic smiles.
Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
The Seuss birthday celebration at Target. How cool!
Mom, can you take my picture in this outfit and send it to Miss Yeagley?
Take my picture too mom!
